The particular WORD to describe our WORK in WOLPH: FUNTASTIC!

Funtastic is a "Frankenword = Frankenstein + Word"; but the exact definition is a Ƥσятмαитɛαʋ: is a word formed by the mixture of two or more different words to create a word with a new and combined meaning.
Maybe some examples will help you to get the main idea:

BRUNCH = Breakfast + Lunch
MEXICALI = Mexico + California
ROCKUMENTARY = Rock + Documentary

We love this Frankenwords, so wait for more to come!

Because WE CAN BE HEROES JUST FOR ONE DAY.

Inspired for an Icon like David Bowie, mixed with his alter-ego Ziggy Stardust and I believe one of my top 10 favorite vinyl cover designs ever, Aladdin Sane; and there you go! A lettering poster that I designed to remember his departure in 2016. You can see here more pics and time lapse video of the process, just swipe.

I wanted to try some new colors and what better than a bright and super colorful alphabet to do so.

This lettering were so loved by the people when I published on my IG, that they were featured in the oficial instagram of Sharpie Pens, because guess what?, I used my favorite color palette of sharpie pens, and the result never goes wrong.  ---  you can see it here ---

There is so many facets of MONOSUONO, as colors and emotions found in a dichroic scheme, and that was the inspiration for this chic but cool graphic for the 9th anniversary of his Monkey Business.  ---  You can see the animated version here  ---

I have mixed feelings about this project, was both a fun experience and a biggest disappointment at the same time.

Just want to say "Never work with unprofessional people and -companies- that have a bad reputation of been shady and use their influences to steal the talent of others to obtain the benefit without pay for it".  I think you can tell what was the real deal here. Anyway, I learned a lot from the process.

I LEARNED :

• To don't trust in people, not even in one of your closest friends, because when money is involved more than 20 years of friendship goes to hell.
• To endure working with more than 40ºC without ventilation, perspiring like crazy liters of sweat, working day and night, dizzy and dehydrated and still fulfilling my responsibility.
•
That my talent and creativity is not for the common people, just for the ones who respect it, value it and can appreciate the full process obtaining the same satisfaction as me when we see the final product to be a success.
• That I am a professional designer who always delivers what was entrusted to, no matter the size of the project or the social importance of the client.
• That my good nature has nothing to do with the wrong people I have to deal with some times. And that I'm still cool because I let the Karma finish it.
• That I'm very good doing murals with acrylic paint and chalk, and that I'm not just good working on average canvas sizes!
🤣

MONOSUONO is one of my favorites friend-client who always support my non so ortodox design ideas, because he's a lover like me about all matters related to art, design & music. He brings out my Dr. Jekill to design graphics like these powerful posters with neon cosmic colors, to celebrate his 8th anniversary as the charismatic, talented and cool artist he is.

While I was waiting for a friend (like an hour ahead) in a small tea house in Seoul, I started to sketch some lettering with a vibe of the 80s or 90s but not in a very obvious way, did a couple words and then I started to look on google for more cool places to go after the tea; and found a blog who had the quote I used as inspiration to use my designed letters... DREAM, BELIEVE, DO AND REPEAT.

It took me 6 months after I returned from South Korea, to finally finish this, because all I did during 6 weeks in Korea was to dream and believe and do it and repeat it again and again.

I'm in the process of design the whole alphabet and maybe I'll name it like the nickname my design colleagues gave me since school days... Bombon. Or maybe a more strong variation like BOMBONATOR; what do you think?
